Last November, Špela Videčnik and Rok Oman (Ofis) completed their first project in France, a student residence with 192 studios. Located in the north of Paris, on the edge of the urban area of a city currently going through restructuring, the project does not go unnoticed.
The building, with its rear wall facing west, reveals to the suburb its unusual front consisting of huge wooden ‘containers’ of varying heights, looking as if they were stacked randomly. At first, this jolly mess is distracting.
